DOT Physical
Brenda McIntosh FNP-BC is certified to do DOT Physicals.
Many professionals need a Department of Transportation physical.
These physicals are a requirement of many commercial driving jobs. Call Be Well Medical Telehealth Weight Loss & More to inquire about your medical physical.
What Are Express DOT Physicals?
A DOT physical is the same as a regular one, but you’re quickly put on the schedule. Many jobs require these before a person can start working. At Live Well Medical Clinic and Spa, we have availability to complete your physical so your work isn’t disrupted. Give us a call today to schedule your appointment!
DOT in Jonesborough, TN
When you visit a certified DOT medical provider, you will have a physical examination to evaluate your overall health. Then, the medical professional will gather your medical history and ask questions about your habits and activity levels.
Most examinations are good for 24 months, however, some people are required to complete annual exams. Those with certain medical conditions (hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, etc.) must complete a DOT exam each year.
What Is a DOT Medical Card ?
A DOT medical card is confirmation that you passed your DOT physical examination. Once you have completed it and the medical provider confirms you are fit for your commercial driving job, you’ll receive a medical examiner’s certificate (MEC). This is also known as your DOT medical card.
Commercial drivers must have a CDL and MEC to drive a commercial vehicle. For most people, the MEC is good for two years, but exceptions exist (listed above).
